Yokahu Observation Tower is a concrete tower that was built in the 1960s. It is located at an elevation of 480 meters (1,575 feet) above sea level. It is 69 feet high and has an observation deck at the top.
There is no elevator, though, so you have to climb 98 steps to the top. But if you do, you will be rewarded with wonderful views.
Yokahu Tower has a nice setting in the midst of rainforest, and you can see trees and plants all around it. Look (and listen) for birds as well.
From the observation deck, you will get panoramic views of the surrounding forests: Colorado to the south, Cloud Forest on the ridges, Palm on the slopes, and Tabonuco (trumpet trees), with striking leaves that are silvery white on the underside.
On clear bright days, you can see all the way to the ocean, and even across to the Virgin Islands.
While the Yokahu Observation Tower isn’t located as high up as the Mount Britton Tower, you can drive right up to it. No hiking necessary!

Yes, there is a dedicated parking lot at the Yokahu Observation Tower. Parking time is limited to 30 minutes.
