Pro Tip: Plan to arrive early (opening time or even 15 minutes prior): entry is first-come, first-served based on parking capacity limits. Start exiting by 4:45 pm to avoid the last-minute scramble.

The national forest is open every day, other than Christmas Day, from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.

Although El Yunque National Forest is open for visits and no reservations are required at this time, note that the access road to the park may close when the number of visitors reaches capacity.

Plan on coming early in the day or later in the day, when the park is less apt to be full, or join one of several El Yunque guided tours from San Juan for a hassle-free visit.
