What is the entrance fee to El Yunque?
Short answer: Currently, there is NO entrance fee to visit El Yunque National Forest in Puerto Rico. This beautiful tropical forest, the only one in the US National Forest system, is absolutely free to visit.
What’s more, there’s no parking fee at El Yunque National Forest, making it possible to enjoy the jungle hiking trails, waterfalls, and tropical flora and fauna without forking over a penny.
Unless, of course, you choose to join a guided tour of El Yunque, which is a popular and hassle-free way of visiting El Yunque National Forest.
Note, however, that if you want to visit El Portal de El Yunque, the visitor center at the national forest, you do have to pay an entrance fee of $8.00 per person aged 16 or older. Kids 15 and under enter free.
If you have a US National Parks Pass, you pay a discounted rate of $4.00 per person to tour the visitor center, with its many exhibits and the park film.
